Juanita (Hicks) Scroggins, 89, of Waldron, Arkansas passed away September 5, 2017 in Fort Smith. She was born October 29, 1927 in the Greenridge Community, Scott County to the late Maurice and Mettie (Puckett) Hicks.
Juanita was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church, she was the Sunday school teacher for forty some years. This was the first church she attended and the one she stayed at her whole life. Juanita married Clarence (Doc.) Scroggins on May 29, 1948.
She was survived by one son Terral Scroggins and wife Sissy of Mansfield, Arkansas, one grandson Jeff Pyles and wife Kim of Mansfield, great-grandchild Kaylie Pyles of Mansfield, Arkansas. She is also survived by two brothers; Maurice (Sonny) Hicks and wife Leann, Henry Hicks and wife Marilyn of Waldron, Arkansas and by several nieces, nephews, friends and other family.
She is preceded in death by her husband Clarence, parents Maurice and Mettie , three sisters; Lorene Hicks, Velma Castleberry, Flora Belle Lawson and one brother Alford Crayton Hicks.
Funeral service was 10:00 a.m. Friday September 8, 2017 at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church with Bro. Keith Holleman officiating. Burial will follow the services at Mt. Pleasant cemetery under the direction of Martin Funeral Home in Waldron.
Pallbearers ere be Kelly Hicks, Breck Hicks, Jerry Montgomery, Keith Hicks, Duane Castleberry and Buddy Lawrence.
