Shop Local campaign has begun in Scott County
By The Waldron News
In response by a call of action, local community leaders and business owners have launched a shop local campaign for Waldron and Scott County. During a meeting held last Monday evening, a Shop Local Bingo game was devised among local business merchants to promote local shopping.
Each of the businesses found within the Bingo card is an active participant with Tyson Foods offering the complimentary ‘free space.’
Shoppers are encouraged to visit each of the businesses to create a ‘bingo’ on the card.
According to the rules, the ‘bingo’ can be any five connecting purchases that connect directly vertically, horizontally, or diagonally. There is no limit on how many cards can be completed between the dates of October 1 through November 30.
Once a ‘bingo’ has been determined, the card will be turned in at The Waldron News office during regular business hours of 8 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday to Friday.
Each card entry must have the receipts stapled from the participating merchants as well as their initials to be considered as a qualified purchase.
A drawing will be held at 5 p.m. on December 2 during the Christmas Lighting ceremony on historic Main Street in downtown Waldron.
The winner of the drawing will receive $500 in Waldron bucks that can be spent at any of the participating merchants. If the first card drawn is not completed or qualified to win under said rules, then a second card will be drawn.
