Frances Casey

Frances Casey passed away June 9, 2017 at the age of 98. She was born October 23, 1918 to J.M. and Ethel Shakelford in the Cornish community, which was purchased by Ft. Chaffee. The family moved to Abbott December 1941 where she met the love of her life, Charley Casey.

They established their home in Abbott where she remained until her death. She was a member of First Baptist Church Abbott where she served as church clerk and treasurer for many years, She enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers and crocheting.

She is survived by two daughters; Linda McLung (Paul) Sherwood, Donna McAlister of Abbott, grandchildren; David McLung (Christy), Angela Yoder (Travis), Stacy Jaglal (Carl), Craig McAlister (Lucretia), great grandchildren; Tiffany Jaglal, Casey Roberts, Jacob Roberts, Sydney McClung, Jason McAlister, Luke Reed, Austin McClung, Alexa Jaglal, Maggie McClung and Olivia Yoder.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 49 years Charley, son-in-law J.B. McAlister, one sister and three brothers. Visitation was Tuesday June 13, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Mansfield.

Funeral service was held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday June 14, 2017 at The Church at Abbott in Abbott with burial to follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery #2 under the direction of Martin Funeral Home in Mansfield.

Pallbearers were nephews; Stanley Winford, Nolen Winford, Waymond Adair, Charles Casey and Mark Shackleford.
