Fort Smith Film Festival

Deadline for students to submit their short film for a University of Arkansas Fort Smith scholarship award is Friday, May 7. Students must visit FortSmithFilm.com for instructions to enter and additional information. UAFS Short Film Scholarship Awards will consist of $2,000 for first place, $1,000 for second place and $500 for third place. Scholarship winners must be eligible to receive financial aid and must be enrolled and attending UAFS to redeem their awards. Students must provide a valid student identification. Student entries prior to the May 7 deadline is free.

River Valley High School students will also receive cash prizes in the amounts of $750, $500 and $250 by sponsorship of Arvest Bank.

The Fort Smith International Film Festival will be held August 13-14, 2021. The inaugural festival celebrates the artistic expression and diverse experiences of Native Americans and People of Color through film, panel discussions, music, and much more. This 2-day event will explore diverse experiences and the way they coalesce on the big screen as cultural, historical, and identifying markers to who we are as artists, and as individuals.

Submissions can be submitted via FilmFreeway through June 2021.
