Both the Waldron Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs wrapped up their 2019-2020 basketball seasons last week in the first round of the 3A-1 Regional Tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs (12-19, 4-10) fell to the Valley Springs Lady Tigers (33-7, 7-5) by a score of 73-31 in the first round of the tournament. Valley Springs went on to win the Regional with a 57-34 win over Rose Bud in the semi-finals, and a 53-50 victory against Mountain View in the championship. Coach Atchley will lose one senior to graduation this year, before the Lady Bulldogs return to the hardwood next season with a poise.

Coach Brown and the Waldron senior boys also watched their season come to an end last week. The Bulldogs suffered a 70-60 loss to Clinton in the first round on Thursday. The Clinton Yellowjackets went on to lose to Valley Springs, the eventual regional champions. While most would argue the talented Bulldogs season ended too soon, the Waldron squad finished their season with a 24-7 overall record, while going 12-2 on conference play. The Bulldogs will graduate five impactful seniors this year, but expect Coach Brown to return a talented group next season.

Congratulations to both the Waldron Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs on very successful seasons.
