Improvements made on railroad crossing

Through the efforts made by Scott County Judge James Forbes and support from area leadership, the US Highway 71 railroad crossing was repaired last week on June 26 and 27 by the Arkansas Department of Transportation. During the repairs, Highway 71 traffic was diverted to Main Street/Hwy. 71 B.  “I appreciate the state Department of Transportation repairing the Hwy 71 RR Crossing in Waldron. A long day for them as it was 10 PM when I watched the workers remove the barriers. I appreciate all that Judge Forbes and Senator Rice did to ensure this dangerous problem was addressed. Seeing our long standing highway issues being addressed confirms the work I did as the majority leader to ensure passage of a highway maintenance bill was the right choice for our district,” Representative Marcus Richmond stated.
