US Hwy 71 traffic paralyzed  due to overturned semi

Traffic along US Highway 71, just north of Waldron by Square Rock Lake was paralyzed due to an overturned poultry truck mid-morning on Monday, Jan. 20.

Local law enforcement officials from the Arkansas State Highway Department, Scott County Sheriff’s Department and Arkansas Game and Fish Department were on the scene directing the flow of traffic as well as corralling chickens from the roadway.

The driver of the truck was transported to Mercy Hospital in Waldron according to motorists on the scene.

The cause of the wreck has not been determined. 

Multiple OK Food vehicles were on the scene to assist in the clean-up efforts and mobilizing of the chickens into the cages.
