Over 800 athletes were present on Friday, Feb. 1 for the running of the class 1A-4A state indoor track titles during the 2019 ATCA high school indoor track and field state championships held at the Randal Tyson Track Complex in Fayetteville.
After a long run of events and a 1 a.m. completion time, the Waldron Bulldogs and Lady Bulldogs came out victoriously by securing the state championship title for indoor track. This accomplishment was the first for the Bulldogs and a closure in an eight-year gap for the Lady Bulldogs who previously won their first state championship in 2011.
The Lady Bulldogs competed in 14 events. Of these events, the following were recognized:
4x800 Relay State Champions: Ryleigh Anschutz, Madison Patrick, Stephanie Sexton, and Kentucky Spence.
High Jump State Champion: Jaden Kirkendoll
60 Hurdles State Champion: Erica Davis
4x400 Relay All-State: Ryleigh Anschutz, Desiree Hunt, Kaylie Martinez, and Stephanie Sexton.
All-State in 60 Hurdles: Hannah Jeffries
All-State Shot Put: Alyssa Byford

200 Meter State Champion: Gabino Grano
Triple Jump State Champion: Mason Ford
60 Meter All-State: Bryson Bailey
