Mae Elizabeth

Mae Elizabeth (Yandell) Slater went to be with her Lord and Savior October 30, 2021 at home surrounded by her family. Born November 25, 1928 in Waldron, Arkansas to Rosie (Pollard) Yandell and Charlie Yandell. Mae married the love of her life Ted Slater on January 25,1947. Mae worked at Tyson for 40 years. She was a homemaker, Wife, and Mother.

Mae was one of the founding memebers of Friendship Church, Mae a picture of what it means to live for the Lord. She never met a stranger and was always ready to help, nurse, or pray for anyone or situation.

Mae was preceded in death by her husband Ted Slater, parents Rosie and Charlie Yandell, Granddaughter Kimberly (Speaks) Taylor, two sisters Dorothy Berrett, Sue (Berrett) Barber, and brother Alan Yandell.

Survived by two sisters Fayreen Vaughn, Mary Brothers, Daughter Freda Speaks, Grandkids: Terry Speaks and Wife Tara speaks, Rhonda Burden, Jamie Speaks and wife Wanda Speaks, Tonya Edgar and Husband Charles Edgar, and Russell Speaks and wife, fourteen great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday November 2, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Waldron.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday November 3, 2021 at Friendship Pentecostal Church of God with burial to follow the service at Lamb cemetery under the direction of Martin Funeral Home in Waldron.

Pallbearers will be Gage Speaks, Jacob Speaks, Richie Brothers, Tony Vaughn, Kenny Highfil, Micheal Garrison, Chase Edgar, and Austin Edgar. Honorary Pallbearers are Blake Garrison, and The Friendship Ladies Group.
