Rose Smalling, 86, of Cedar Creek, Arkansas passed away peacefully at Chi. St. Vincent Hospice at Hot Springs, AR on January 30, 2020. She was born May 12, 1933 to Fred & Ruby Herrin in Forester, AR.

She married J.V. Smalling in 1949 and they lived at Forester, AR, Wright City, OK, Mtn. Pine, AR, and later she and her son lived at Cedar Creek, AR, after J.V. passed away in 1991. She attended Cedar Creek Community Church and also Harvey Assembly of God until her health wouldn’t allow her to go to church anymore. She loved her kids, grandchildren, and also enjoyed her flowers and houseplants.

Rose is survived by one son Danny Smalling of Cedar Creek, Arkansas, one daughter Carla and husband Tony Jackson of Mt. Pine, Arkansas, eight grandchildren: Dewayne. Amanda, Katelynn, Frankie, Charles, Mary, Joyce, Gail and by numerous great-grandchildren friends and other family members.     

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband J. V. Smalling, one son Jacky Smalling, and three brothers; Gary Herrin, Larry Herrin and Billy Ray Herrin.

Visitation was Sunday February 2, 2020 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral service were held 2:00 pm Monday February 3, 2020 at Cedar Creek Church with burial to follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery under the direction of Martin Funeral Home in Waldron, Arkansas.

Pallbearers were Tony Jackson, Dewayne Smalling, Jim Laird, Steven Smalling, Tyler Smalling and Lance Smalling.
